The Creator and His Creation

 

In God’s much exceeding realm of life, light, creativity and calling forth, He thought it awesome to have His nature, abilities and possibilities to be seen. He then came up with the ideal idea to have His nature outside of Himself. God made His attributes find expression outside of Himself by the very things He created. He created all things, Colossians 1:16 & 17 captured the scope of all that God created. It says “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

A fraction of the above text in Colossians and Revelation 4:11 which says “thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” reveals that reason God created ALL things. All things were/are created to please He that made all things. We must remind ourselves this basic truth. Over the years, humanity has defined essence of existence and supposedly want to define circumstances that take place.

At creation, there were two distinct processes by which creation came into existence. They are: the calling forth and the-making-process. The bible expressly reveals this truth. Both life and lifeless creatures from the very first day to the fifth day of creation were created by God’s calling forth. The bible reveals that “and God said…” While the creation process of man wasn’t through calling forth but rather through the-making process. What I mean by the-making-process is the active involvement of God in man’s creation. This making-process involves three stages. They are: forming, making and breathing. Each of this stages have its respective importance in the creation of man. The respective bible texts of this stages are these.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

“And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

God created man in the form, version and potential with which He wants him to possess. The dust with which God formed man out of is man’s flesh or body. The breath He breathed into man’s nostril is the human spirit. The union of the human spirit with his flesh activated his soul. The bible calls it “a living soul.” There are three major constituents that are sources of man’s life. They are: blood, soul and spirit. These respective constituents have their individual and cooperate responsivities. And one thing about whatever has life is that is has a will. Just as animals and angels have different forms of life and their corresponding will power, same applies to man. The will power in man is that ability to decide what to do at whatever time.

Access to the tree of life and the original God given life (zoe) in the garden was lost through the sin of treason. Yet, there was still soul life (chay) in man. This so-called life became independent. Having the ability to self-determine what to do. This soul part of man has the will power to take decisions. Generations after Adam and Eve revolted against their Creator. Men decisively walked in ways displeasing to their Maker. Genesis 6:5 & 6 witnessed to the intentional rebellion of man. It says “ ⁵ And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ⁶ And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.”

The point I’m trying to make is that man who is the most blessed and most privileged of all of God’s creation from the beginning even until now rubbished and forsook firstly his Maker and His provisions. God in His love made so many things available and accessible to man so much so that Psalms 8: 3-6 records that “³ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; ⁴ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  ⁵ For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.  ⁶ Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.” 

Meanwhile, God sent Jesus Christ to restore back the broken relationship between Him and man. The bible said in John 1:11 that “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”  We now have all forms of proud, selfish and negative disposition to Jesus Christ Himself and His works. Men have decisively ignored, neglected, belittled and ill-spoken of Jesus and the spiritual essence of His works while He walked on earth. However, judgement is coming upon the world and all things therein. We will all be judged based on our decisions, motives and works. We sincerely need to perpetually reverence and fear the Almighty God. Please Him in all we do.

Finally, God is the creator of all things. We are His blessed and privileged creation to share from His nature and divinity. All creation is to please Him and He alone. We must ensure and enforce the pleasing of He that made all things.
